After exploring the City of Sisters for hours on end, this pizzeria offers tasty homemade food in an enjoyable ambiance. Choose from delicious pies, antipasto salads, and Pepperoni here; service is friendly while the atmosphere is exotic; they also offer takeaway dishes, which makes dining even more accessible.
Bruno’s
Bruno Pizza is a small, casual eatery that exudes an air of sophistication, with an inviting bar that stretches down one side and two-person tables along its other edge. Bussers work efficiently in this narrow aisle while an exposed black ceiling and Ethan Armen wheatpaste art adorn the walls; both were painted directly onto plywood when opening this restaurant.
The pizza itself was delicious, yet the service was extremely disappointing. After being seated with our reservation and waiting an hour for our order to come out, appetizers never materialized, and our server failed to bring my husband his drink refills – overall, it was an unpleasant experience that will likely result in us never going back again.
Overall, though, the pizza made up for any service issues: thick crust with chewy chewiness and just the right amount of salty flavor; cheese melted to perfection, and toppings were fresh and flavorful; salads were well-prepared and delectable calzone was ample and satisfying – hopefully, service will improve soon as this place offers fantastic east village pizza – they even deliver to 30A!
