One of the most important aspects of any insurance policy is timely premium payment. LIC has introduced many online methods for its customers to make the process easy and hassle-free.
Paying a LIC policy premium is easier now than ever with UPI-enabled apps like Google Pay, Phone Pe, and Paytm. You only need a policy number and an email ID to pay.
LIC Online Payment Gateway
The LIC Online Payment Gateway is a convenient way to pay your LIC premiums. It allows you to make payments through various modes, including net banking and mobile wallets.
To pay through the LIC Online Payment Gateway, go to their website and click on the ‘Pay Premium Online’ tab. This will open a new page with two options – ‘Pay Direct (Without Login)’ and ‘Through Customer Portal.’
Once you have selected ‘Pay Direct (Without Login),’ it will prompt you to enter all the required details. This includes your reference number, policy number, birth date, and email ID.
Once you have submitted the required information, you can proceed to the next step of the process. You can choose from a range of payment methods to make your payment, including Debit Card Wallets, Net-banking, and UPI. The service is free of cost, and LIC will send you an email receipt after your price has been completed.
PhonePe
PhonePe is a mobile payment app on the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) platform. It is based on the same technology as Paytm and Google Pay and allows you to send, transfer, and receive money instantly without providing any bank details or credit/debit card numbers.
You can use the UPI app to make payments across several platforms and merchants. All you need to do is register for the app and create a VPA or Virtual Payment Address.
Users can also link multiple bank accounts in the app, eliminating the need to install various apps. There is no service charge levied for transactions made through the app.
The app also lets you make a payment through the QR code option. This is great if you must send money to friends or relatives from different states. You can quickly scan a QR code using your smartphone’s camera to make a payment.
Paytm
One of India’s largest mobile payment and commerce platforms, Paytm offers a secure and convenient way to make payments. It has over 150 million users and is famous for people looking to manage their money online.
It also lets you send and receive money directly to bank accounts via the UPI feature. This makes it easier than ever for you to transfer money instantly to others.
You can make payments through Paytm using your phonebook contacts, entering a recipient’s mobile number, or scanning their UPI QR code. Alternatively, you can even load the amount into your wallet and send it to them.
The quickest and most secure way to transfer money is through the Paytm UPI feature, which allows you to send funds between bank accounts instantly. You can then enter a PIN to verify the payment and complete the transaction.
Google Pay
Google Pay is an easy and secure way to make payments online. It allows you to add any credit or debit card and then use it at stores and websites supporting it.
It can also be used to send money directly from the app. It makes it easier than ever to transfer funds and pay for things like meals, trips, bills, etc.
However, it does require an active Internet connection to work. This is vital for purchasing, adding or removing cards, and downloading transaction history.
You can store up to five cards in your account, each with its unique number and security PIN. You can even set your default card.
Since Google Pay uses a virtual version of your card, merchants don’t see your actual credit or debit card numbers, which can help protect you from fraud. It also encrypts your data to protect against phishing and malware attacks.
