What is the NIA Full Form?

The NIA is a central agency that has been created by the government of India to counter-terror. It is also a leading research agency in the field of immunology. Besides its judicial powers, it has training and grants policies and procedures. In this article, you will learn more about this agency.

NIA is a central agency to combat terror in India

The NIA is the primary counter-terrorist law enforcement agency in India. It is mandated to investigate crimes related to terrorism and war against the country, including bomb blasts and illegal drugs. The agency has jurisdiction over the entire country, including its territories and citizens living abroad. It has eight regional offices in India.

In recent years, the NIA has been instrumental in putting down several terrorists. They have investigated 93 cases and brought 11 to trial. The agency was instrumental in capturing Yasin Bhatkal, a senior member of the Indian Mujahideen.

The NIA has an efficient and result-oriented approach to investigating terrorists. It is committed to upholding the law of the land and the Constitution of India. It also upholds human rights and incorporates modern methods and technology into its investigations. It also works with other law enforcement agencies to build databases on terrorists.

It is a leading research agency in the field of immunology.

NIA supports early-stage investigators in developing their research programs, preparing them for leadership roles in the field. Its Emerging Global Leader Award and Institutional Training Program also support institutional training programs. These programs promote collaborative research among research institutions and focus on chronic noncommunicable diseases.

It has its own Judicial Court.

Nia has its own Judicial Court, which is called the Special Court. It exercises the powers of a Magistrate and Court of Sessions. Relevant statutes can amend those powers. The Special Court of Nia is an excellent example of a special court.

In addition to its general jurisdiction, the Special Court has the authority to try scheduled offenses. It has the power to modify the NIA Act and its procedure for trial and to take cognizance of certain scheduled offenses. In addition, the Special Court has the power to try specific categories of offenses in a summary manner.

The Special Court of Nia also has the power to impose bail on the accused. In addition, the Court has jurisdiction over cases filed under the NIA Act, unlike the High Court of Delhi or the Court of Sessions.

It has its grants and training policies, and procedures.

The NIA has its policies and procedures for grants and training. Each extramural program oversees the management and development of a specific training grant program. The program director is responsible for establishing and implementing training grant policies. The grants management office is responsible for the financial aspects of the grants. Each training grant has three contact points within NIA: the training grant director, the program health science administrator, and the grants management office.
